Scholarship and Benifit Fund

Due to the generosity of the supporters and the overwhelming growth of the Racer's Benevolent Fund, a college scholarship fund in Mike Sr.'s name was formed in conjunction with Joliet Junior College in 1998. To be eligible, a student must have made significant progress toward a career in auto racing or in the automotive technology field. Alternatively, applicants must show direct or indirect (immediate family) involvement in auto racing or the automotive industry. As a result, $5,000 in scholarships were awarded for the first time at Race Fest on March 3, 1998, to ten selected students from Joliet Junior College.

High School Benefit Fund

In 2002 the Mike Guglielmucci Sr. Benevolent Fund supported the "High School Pit Crew Challenge" at Route 66 Raceway. The Fund donated a total of $1,000 to the eighth and ninth place winners of the challenge. The winning schools will be able to use the winnings to purchase tools and other materials to be used in the school auto shop.

Total Payouts

Since its inception in 1995, the Fund has donated a total of over $160,000 to individuals and families in need in the racing community and to local Joliet students involved in the automotive industry.
